FAN and AC come on by itself out of no where?
I was thinking i forgot my AC on and i pressed it by accident on my steering wheel or something, but today sitting in my car with the key in the ignition the car on idle, it was pretty hot out, the fan and AC came on byitself like i pressed the fan + button. And im pretty sure it happened twice before on its own aswell.
It turns on the the last settings i had it on. Anyone else have this issue? My car is a 11/09 build, and just got my software updated for long cranks about a week ago. |

I cleaned my windsheild, the temp sensor on the FAN/AC unit and the other sensor on the dash in the middle.
Check all the setting to make sure nothing is in auto mode and i am gonna make sure i dont press the RECUR button on the steering wheel. Gonna go for a nice long driver tonite and sunday so i will keep updated on what happens. codes i have gotten are 2FCA and 2FDA, but other have gotten this and not have the FAN/AC ghost problem, so these codes arent related. |

On older BMW's, there was a very similar problem where the fan speed would not regulate itself and it'd blast air and then lower and then back up and it was very erratic. This was caused by a fauly "final stage resistor." Maybe look into whether that component is what is causing your issue? I'm not sure how to interpret codes or anything.

Just to update this, i cleaned the temp sensor on the AC console and set everything to manual nothing auto and this has not happened to me ever since.
I have no idea what these codes are still.. I havent deleted them and they have not gone away. I am going to delete them soon and see they if they come back.

Something appears to be wrong. In any event, make sure that you make use of the same key. If you use your spare, it will adjust the settings to its last setting.
