Free Washer Fluid

Sorry if this is a repost but I did three or four searches to see whether it had been posted before and didn't find it. I thought it might be useful for newer owners.

I went to the dealer for a bottle of solvent (concentrate that you mix with water). It's only a few bucks but out of curiousity I asked whether it was covered under the 4-year maintenance warrenty.

She responded "Yes" it was and wrote it off to the shop. I walked out with a free (albeit inexpensive) bottle. btw - if you're under warranty and running low you can swing through the shop and they'll fill it for free.

So you walked in and got a free bottle of the sweet orangey smelling washer fluid for free?

I have been buying the stuff and distilled water every time

I rather keep my toll change for tolls instead of buying washer fluid

Since you were there, you might as well drank their coffee and requested a free car wash too! I don't blame you if you live close to the dealer.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger
