Just got 2009 E92 have a few questions -- Lexus was soo much easier!!

Just got an 09 E92 - Coming from a lexus the electronics and stuff like that seem sooooo much easier, can you please help me answer these questions thanks in advance

Oh and it has Idrive with navation

1) How can I mute the radio from the steering wheel?

2) How can I control or set the temp to be the same on both the driver and pass sides?

3) Anyway to mute the seatbelt chime? I did a search a couldnt find anything recent to determine if its been solved or not

4)Is there anyway to crack the sunroof? Like pop it up in the other direction like most cars

5) Some of the HD radio stations that I put in come in strong but then fade and some of them fade out completly!

6)How to get radio station to show number instead of name of station?

Thanks again

I don't think there is a mute button. I haven't read the manual about it because it wasn't that important, but I just turn the radio volume down

2. You need to spend more time in the car. Have fun and figure it out
3. Without outside modifications, you can't mute the chime
4. Read number 2.
5. lol read number 2.

Man you are laaaazy! If you spend an hour in the car and just play with the buttons, you will figure it all out....Don't be scared to enter the matrix my friend

BMW Fanatic gave you the answers in post three.

In addition to his comments, I recommend that you sit down with the manual and get familiar with it. I have both a hard-copy manual and a PDF manual. I'm constantly "thumbing" through it. The PDF version is great because you can use the search feature to find specific terms.

Lexus is the worst luxury brand in my opinion, maybe easier, but a terrible car.
BMW is so easy i dont know how you cant figure that out.
Read the manual.

TBH though, I'm with OP on the fact that these things aren't automatically apparent, as they are with other automakers.... This is what "fiddling time" is for once you get the car. If you can't figure this stuff out by dicking around with the controls which are at your disposal, break open the manual.

Figuring out to push the sunroof button doesn't seem like it would take a genius to figure out, but some people just don't think of it I guess.

I think the 2010's and 2011's have this feature.

Cool

Oh and it has Idrive with navation

1) How can I mute the radio from the steering wheel?
No access to mute from wheel push volume knob in

2) How can I control or set the temp to be the same on both the driver and pass sides?
09s cant only 10s have the "all" button

3) Anyway to mute the seatbelt chime? I did a search a couldnt find anything recent to determine if its been solved or not
yea wear your seatbelt

4)Is there anyway to crack the sunroof? Like pop it up in the other direction like most cars
push the button up instead of sliding it back like in post 3

5) Some of the HD radio stations that I put in come in strong but then fade and some of them fade out completly!
must be your area

6)How to get radio station to show number instead of name of station?
go to radio > options > go to turn off RDS

I have a mute button on my steering wheel. You have to go and configure the programmable button in iDrive to select mute.

if you are super lazy and your dealer is similar to mine, just bring to your SA and they will sit down with you and answer all this stuff.

1) I used to have a mute button on my steering wheel in my '07 335i. In my '09 it's been replaced with a recirculate air toggle button. Don't ask me who decided that function was more important to have on the steering wheel, they should be slapped. Instead you can just push the volume knob in.

2) The newer models have an ALL button. The older models you just need to set both knobs to the same temp.

3) It stops after about 5 solid minutes. Alternatively you can just put your seatbelt on.

4) Press the button up (towards the sky) instead of sliding it forward or backwards.

5) Never had that problem, dunno!?

6) From the radio, press Options | RDS

Read the manual.
Food for thought: Why does Lexus not use synthetic motor oil, yet have a price for an oil change that's well over $100?

Because the techs have to take off 230948203948 plastic covers that's covering the engine before they can change the oil.
