Dilemma between next mod.. LCI Tails, RD, BOV...
Hey so im considering a few things for my next mod, as I only have an OEM lip right now lol.
(1) Escort Redline Radar Detector - $620 CDN (2) LCI Tails - Around $900 CDN after install (3) Active Autwerkes BOV - $550ish CDN Any suggestions? The LCI tails may be an issue because EAS just posted how its not working without some FRM module for some cars which is pretty expensive. The RD can be an issue because this is a convertible and RD are illegal in my province, since its iwndshield mounted cops can see it easily and just pull me over after seeing it? The AA BOV is pretty nice but seems pricey. Any thoughts would be great, thanks

Spend the money on a good driving class. It'll not only make you a safer driver but will also allow you to run rings around cars with all those stupid "go fast" mods - all the while staying within the legal speed limits.
Plus, it is one of the few mods that moves with you from one car to another - and might save your life. |

(1) I find radar detectors to be pretty useless since most have switched to laser guns. Maybe your area is different from mine.
(2) LCI Tails - Not worth the money in my opinion. Not that drastic of a change if you ask me. Sounds like it could run into possible warranty issue w/ changing the FRD. Plus, I believe you'd run into problems again if you ever had to get your car upgraded to a new SW (eg HPFP replacement + SW update) since that would wipe out those changes. (3) I personally don't like the woosh sound. I'd recommend getting the Lux H8 white LED angel eyes. One of my favorite mods at about $200USD. JB3 it if you want a bigger grin. |

My 9500ix has made me ticket free for 2 years so far. I paid 500 bucks for it but at least I stopped getting my license suspended every year.

I had a v1 and it notified me of cops on the freeway coming up from behind. Patrol cars send out a strong ka signal in phoenix. You can pick them up IN TRAFFIC a couple miles behind you due to the huge overhanging road signs. Problem is it says the cops are ahead of you not behind.

Maybe the ones further north on 400 past Alpharetta. All I've encountered with my V1 were laser guns. Roswell and Alpharetta and Duluth cops at least. I find it best to pace a faster car and notice when the crowd ahead all tap their brakes for no apparent reason.

+1 for radar detector. I've had an escort 8500 for 4 years now and it's definitely saved me from at least a dozen tickets. It's not even that I speed by that much, but it's nice to have a beep that tells you to take a look at your mph needle. Just do yourself a favor and read up on how to properly mount it. Too many people buy amazing detectors then mount them in stupid places where they can't pick up signal.
