does the e90 have to be reprogrammed after replacing a seat?
My e92 has an aftermarket sound system, and the dealer is claiming they 'NEED' to reprogram the car because they're replacing the front left seat. I'm very suspicious of this, because earlier I took it in for a fuel pump replacement, and as well all know BMW wants the dealers to do a program update bundled with the fuel pump. I forced the dealer to do the fuel pump without the program and they keep asking me to bring the car back to get it reprogrammed. But I've heard bad things about the update, and for me to do this, I would have to have my car audio shop put the old stock radio back in.
My questions are -Do I really need a reprogram when I switch seats? -Is it a bad idea to do this reprogramming? -If it is a bad idea, can I argue with the dealer, or go to another dealer (will this blacklist me with this dealer)? |

I recently replaced my non-ZSP premium seats with ZSP premium seats of the same model year ('09). My car does not have the heated seat option, new ZSP seats are heated.
Everything works fine, except of course, no heat (which I'd love to get wired up at some point, but I digress...). I haven't had the car in to the dealer for anything since, so maybe this info is not helpful, but figure I'd chime in FWIW. Howard
