mpg display

Hi i,m new here have had a bmw 320d se 2007 for 2 weeks, first bm brilliant car hate the noisy runflats anyway had mpg on display up until today altered a few settings on display but cant seem to get the mpg back on display.
Looked in h/book followed settings but it will not display it can anyone help thx a lot.
