Last week I got Engine Malfunction message with reduce power. It goes away with a restart, happend 5-7 times in 2 days. I was told it could be anything from HPFP to vacuum hose being collapsed to bad injectors.
Other problem I was seeing for few months was clicking/rattling sound near the turbo.

Took the CPO 335i with 52K on it to the bmw dealer. He fixed the first problem of reduce power by replacing the low pressure sensor.

For second problem the car is still their for 5 days and wont be done for 3 more days. They have to replace both Wastegate Actuator.
they told me 20 hrs of labor plus parts. thanks god I have a CPO till 100k otherwise its easily 4k job. they told me HPFP is good. My first major problem with this car at 52K. But its so fun to drive.

Make sure new buyers if you in the market for 335i/x buy a CPO or extended warranty due to the turbo issues on this 3 series. Otherwise it will cost you a foot and leg to get it fixed..HPFP are warranty for 120k though.

I am thinking is 85% Ethanol Gas causing these issues or not.
I used BP 93 octane which I believe is 15% or 10% ethanol.
I heard they create water vapor in the fuel tank which can cause issues with HPFP.

Just kidding, but I really doubt it's just the gas we use. There's deeper rooted problems with the 335i
