Depressed.
Hi all.
I had to vent. I lost. I thought I was doing what was best, and all I did was make myself extremely unhappy. I am on month 2 of my Infiniti G35 (2004) after trading in my 2007 328i. Yes it was a manual, but yes it was fun to drive. I wanted the manual becuase I LOVE to drive. I broke down after 1+ years of my wife saying BMW was not a good brand to own after 3 years, the warranties are expensive, the care and upkeep was high and the gas is premium,. I relented and relented, and then she asked me if I was putting a car in front of the family. I broke. She loved the 35 on lot, and I drove it and was like eh, Okay I can survive. I was WRONG. I am now hating the car, I miss my Beemer, I really miss my 02 330ci (RED) but I loved the brand and I was really liking my 07. So now I sit and I stew and even tinted windows, and a new sound system isnt helping. At this point I am starting to drive the Pilot more, becuase at least I dont feel like I betrayed the family. I will be going back. I swear, I think I may not make it the year, but I am excited for the new model in 2012, so I will wait...bide my time and stew. Sad day in NC my friends sad day indeed. And for all you folks who say my wife rules and I have no pants...I am married 5 years and honestly, 56% of you effers are divorced... |

well 50% of all married couples get divorced anyways so that's common. Just wait till the repair bills start popping up for the 35 then your wife will see, if it doesn't pop up; then beat the crap out of it till it does. Then you can "take the high road" instead and show your wife how good the bmw really was

Where exactly does your wife gather her info? I am willing to bet that the G35 is a far more expensive car to maintain than 3-er... especially the E46.

I explained it wasn't the car, and BMW has great longevity. She was worried about cost for the ext warranty, and she said after she just didint like the way it drove. I was bamboozled. I should have started posting ideas for a fight back, but I ran into too much going on, and she was doing "research" MY FAULT, she checked a website that ran cost of ownership over 5 years and the BMW was higher than most...I thought the g35 was Okay, I did I was like eh its suppose to be somewhat the same. I WAS SO DAMN WRONG.
I am not the only one, one of my buddies bought a 1s350 and the other bought a Maxima from a 335 and 5-series. So in short...we were drinking the other night and we all relized where we messed up, two of us listenened to our wives and the other? well I am not sure...he is single and thought the is 350 was cool...I am not sure where he went wrong. I am excited for the 2012, I remember th epics BMW sent of the drawings and couldn't wait to see something like that. |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Lesson learned, don't ever take that guilt trip. I could understand if it was a huge money issue but a g35 isnt exactly going down to a 95 civic. Act like the bread winner and get the car you love.
