Why do M-Sport paddle cut-outs at BMW cost more?

I'm trying to get the M-Steering wheel from Tischer. Why is the exact same thing with the cutout for Paddles $300 more?

That's just the way BMW prices them, which we really can't do anything about - all we can do is discount as much as possible to help y'all out!

I might be selling my wheel - car is being redelivered from Germany with 900 miles...

I'm thinking of ordering a flat bottom wheel from Tischer. Hit me up with an offer.

Do something like this or just cut them out yourself, I cutout an M3 wheel for paddles before the DCT wheel was available and it wasn't terribly difficult as long as you take your time and make templates off the old ones - it is just rubber you are cutting through and one hole to drill through the alluminum structure. Once mounted I used a little windshield urethane adhesive (black silicone would work also) to seal around the cutout and it looked totally factory!

Having a mechanical engineering background...The cut-outs cost more to produce. They are probably CNC-Milled and that requires programming, time, and material lost...as it is cut away and thrown out. Opposed to the non- cutouts which are probably CNC-Milled as well, but only the outside shape needs to be cut and less material is lost as there are no cutouts.

Is it right for BMW to charge an extra $300? No. But they can price their products however they want. People will buy them. I won't. But people who can just write blank checks, will.

Everyone knows when you take something out of something BMW (like little chunks of the steering wheel) it adds significantly to the price!
