So I'm going with the 335i...
If someone can point me in the right direction to find what major differences there are between an 07 and 08 335i that would be great.
I originally planned on getting a 328i but you know what.. I'm going to save a little bit longer and get what I really want. I am planning on getting an extended factory warranty and definitely going with the premium + sport packages. I hope you guys don't get mad if theres already a thread on this.. I couldn't find one. So to reiterate, I'm looking on a list of differences between an 07 and 08 BMW 335i Coupe. Thanks so much guys, I am really enjoying this forum. Have been a lurker for a while but finally signed up Cheers! P.S. If anyone knows of a good dealership to get this car at.. please let me know! I'm planning on getting it next year in June. 1 year from today. Gotta save some money and I'll be graduating from UCLA. |

All I can say is go with the 335 or else you'll be regretting you didn't afterwards.

My 07 Sports Package came with an oil cooler.
I know the iDrive on the 08+ is nicer than the 07's. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But definitely get the 335i!

Hmm is the idrive better in 08? I have it on my 08 and the 07 seems the same? I thought it was 2009 where they improved it?

Not a whole lot of change between 07/08 but a minor difference:
2007 : regular yellow license plate lights 2008 : LED license plate lights Easy to mod if you really want the LED license plate lights (< $100 ) You can check if the 07 has an oil cooler by looking on the inside fender of the front passenger wheel. All 08s with sports package should have the oil cooler.

Some early 07 models did not have the oil cooler. But later 07 models did if they had the Sport Package. Apparently March 07 was the build transition date. But in the 3 years I drove the car, I never had the engine temp high enough where it would need it. The only time I even got close was when I drove aggressively up a mountain.

Get a stick, also with whatever car you decide on, get a list of the maintenance and repair records to see if it has had ongoing issues with anything.

Thanks for all the responses! Sorry about posting in the wrong section..
I don't want the navigation or iDrive.. I really like the look of a clean dash.. Plus I know where I'm going :P I'm so excited guys! A year from today seems so far away but I know time will fly.. Until then I will definitely be reading up and learning about my future car ! |

I have a quick question..
So if I decided to get some aftermarket parts, they would void my warranty right? Are there certain aftermarket parts that do NOT void the warranty that are a must have? |

No OEM parts void anything, they are also covered.
Aftermarket performance parts will void your warranty if they can be linked to a failing component on the car.

You think I should just drive it stock for the first year or so? I mean.. I'm moving up from a 1994 camry, I'm pretty sure I'll be blown away. LOL!

My 11/06 build date w/ ZSP seems to have an oil cooler now that I look inside the wheel well...so it's possible the previous owner got the retrofit approved...so it's not as easy as saying "all 06 and early 07 builds don't have the oil cooler"
Def look for the vents. I'll try and get a pic of mine for reference (and to actually confirm that's what I'm looking at, but it seems to fit the description and I can't imagine what else it'd be) |

I am going to drive my CPO stock (excluding any OEM parts) until the warranty runs out. But yes, you will definitely be blown away! |
