Got these warnings when I was driving
These warnings popped up when I was driving today. It was kind of intermittent because it turned off and then on and off and then on again, stayed on until I got home. If someone has experienced this, please point me in the right direction as to what it is. Thanks.

Wheel speed sensor is most likely going out. It's a very common problem. It makes sense that they all came on and off because the senor is spinning in the wheel, and it is slowly starting to go bad. The wheel speed sensor deals with ABS and DSC. I can't remember what it means when the brake light and ABS light are both on, but when all 3 of those are on, it's usually a wheel speed sensor. Sometimes it ends up being the ABS master control unit, but that is much rarer.

Check your charging system. I had the ABS warning, as have others, and it turned out to be a charging problem. When your electrical is not right, false warnings can ensue.
Not saying it isn't valid, but easy enough to check first. Do a visual check for the green spot sighting down the lens on the battery and check for 14 or so volts DC at idle at the battery with a volt meter. |

The iDrive also displayed a warning along these lines: Start-Off Assist Inactive! Malfunction detected in the brake/ABS system. Maintenance recommended. Avoid hard stopping. This happened twice recently, lasted for about a minute after starting the car while still hot, then went away on its own. I was secretly hoping that fucking start-off feature was finally dead and gone for good. Worst aspect of the car, by far (I have an '06 330i w/ step). Unfortunately, it's still there, and then some. Cheers, Dave |

You may want to invest in the Bavarian Technic tool http://www.bavariantechnic.com/buy.aspx or a peake research tool http://www.peakeresearch.com/ (less expensive but can't reset your battery info.)
I personally had nice experiences with peake (on my e46). Either tool will pay for itself on the very first scan. Good luck. |
