Ethanol has been used ever since MTBE was phased out. Ethanol is not really a good idea since it increases the attraction of water/humidity into the fuel. Depending on the season, some states will use up to 10% ethanol in the fuel they sell...and there is no way around it.

For Calif. drivers, all gasoline sold in the state now contains 10% ethanol up from 7.5% last year. NO LABELS are required on the pumps as of Jan. 1, 1999 (AB1650 passed in 1998). Fuel-Testers.com has the wrong info listed for Calif. but has a lot of info about the engine problems associated with ethanol fuel.
