Neighbor back into my parked car :(

Just a little vent. So I was at my moms and her cenile 90 year old Asian neighbor backed into my car. She doesn't speak English so I talked to her son. They said they'd pay out of pocket for the damages. So I drop my car at the bodyshop the next day and 2 hours later they tell me they want to file a claim. By now I'm driving my rental chrysler Sebring Convertible and I'm half way back to the city I live in so I decide to just leave it. It's now 4 days later and the adjuster hasn't even seen my car yet which means it's just been sitting there. Is it normal to take this long??? I guess I'm stuck in this stupid rental for another week. I'll just close my eyes and pretend it's an e93 in limp mode lol

Well since they waited e days to file a claim, pretty much. You should be excited to pimp the Sebring Convert.!

Lesson learned here. It's best to call the police to assist in the situation. First off, you'd want to have evidence of the incident, and as well as the insurance information. I can't say enough about how I stay away from 'cash payouts'. That's so risky. The other party could simply say that...then you end up getting the car in the shop. An unexpected response would be for them not to pay, or try to twist the story all around and blame you for the incident. By then, you'll be solely liable of paying out of pocket. I'm not pointing fingers here, but that's why we pay for insurance for. I hope it works out for you.

After a day of accidents in Houston, are we now moving into Florida?

Sorry to hear about your accident, OP.
