rare 1st free oil-change experience

So from the sounds of it, everyone is having issues during their free oil change, (dealer refusing to do the service a few weeks shy of the service mark, etc).

I had the 1st free change done on Saturday, and had nothing but a great experience.
Last Thursday my SA called me saying "your car told me it's nearing the 15k mile mark, when can you come in?" So I set up an appointment for Saturday, at 14,600 miles. Took the car in, and spent 45 minutes drooling over an Interlagos Blue M5 with 20% all around that was ready to be delivered; while the oil was changed, and he replaced my wipers since "it won't hurt to have brand new ones on for winter".

I was hesitent when I bought my car, because I had heard some horror stories about my dealer; but I've had nothing but the best of service from them.

All my service appt's have been incredible.

You should credit yours, what dealership was it?

Mine have been with Concord BMW, Cali.

I´m assuming this means that the car called the dealer and reported its condition. Very

I too had a good experience with service during my first oil change.
I onlly had 12000k miles, but it has been 1 year since I bought my car.
So, I'm assuming it's which ever one comes first.

Yeah, I'm guessing this is part of the BMW Assist/Concierge service?

My SA is Rich at Erhard BMW in Bloomfield Hills. Definetely goes above and beyond.

My dealer has been great. Both of my cars had their 1st changes done a little early (week or so) with no grief given.

I've never had anything but GREAT experiences with my dealer's service department, even though I was the 2nd owner of all three BMWs I've owned. I currently have an '01 X5 4.4 and my new (to me) '06 330i with sport and prem. My dealer inpected both cars free of charge (even checked the alignment on the 330) prior to me purchasing them. They have also taken very good care of me on any non-warranty items on the x5 and I have never paid more than $70 for an uncheduled oil change (even on the x5 which takes something like 9 quarts of oil).

BMW of Nashville is GREAT!

I actually thought it was 1 year or whenever the car reports that it needs an oil change(whichever comes first), which doesn't necessarily come at 15,000 miles, as it depends on your driving habits. I've read about a lot of people's dealers refusing to do the oil change until the car said to(assuming it's still less than a yr).

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure it's 15k or 1 year.
My car was saying I still had 2000k miles to go when I went in for the oil change.

Erhard BMW - Bloomfield

Erhard BMW - Bloomfield Hills is a great dealership. I have always had great service with several service reps for the last five years of BMW ownership!

Concord BMW has denied me a service. I have 18K and the car is about 9 mos old. They say to wait until the service indicator hits 100 miles or less. I have 1200 to go and that means when I bring the car in, it will have around 19200 miles.

UPDATE:
I called East Bay BMW yesterday and this morning they took my car for a service. My car had 18600K and 1200 service miles. The car is about 10 mos old. They took my car and performed the service without any push-back.
