HELP - xenon problems from retrofitting

Hi everyone,
I bought my car with BMW xenons being retrofitted. I was getting the message and decided to get the module plus few other parts and message is gone.
Sometimes my lights start blinking and one of them turns off, then comes back on again. Also the auto-levelling feature is not working.
My dealer just told me today that the whole light is problematic, that when someone retrofitted it, they did not change the wires and some other stuff. The whole cost of fixing it could be over $1k
Could you pls let me know what could be the problem??? I have already paid like $1k for the module and some other things they put in...
