where to go for oil Change ?

Does anyone have advice on where to go for my first oil change (1200)? BMW would be the obvious choice, but what do you suggest? I cant just take this to Costco right? that would seem silly......or is it? And how much is it?

independant shop... or see if ///mat would want to do it.
rough estimate on parts

7qt oil x 4 = 28
filter = 15

dealer would be bout 95bux

I took mine to an independent shop recommended by the local BMWCCA. If you can't find a good shop here try the BMW car club.

If you've ever changed oil before, DIY, if not, take it to the dealer, not that no other place can do it, but for me, I do it or the dealer does.

I agree! Jiffy lube guys get paid by the hour and could care less about your car. You pay for what you get! DIY is easy and anyone can do it!!

Get the 7 quarts and the oil filter and go down to your local gas station and
have them do it for you. That's what I do since I am currently in an apartment
bldg and can't do the change myself. It costs me $15 and I'm above their
head so that they don't mess up. And I've also invested on the filter cap tool
because the occasional moron will have the tendency to severely scratch your
oil filter cap. Also since they don't know, they also go for the wrong nut under
the car (the visible one) thinking it's the oil pan's. Done 4 changes like that.
