E90 mirrors acting up using curb option

When I use the curb side mirror option, my mirrors completely fold back towards the hood of the car (and make an awful clicking sound at the end, like it is breaking).

When I press it again they fold back towards the inside, however for some reason they don't stop midway as per my memory settings.

When I lock the car they stay in the position I manually put them in, but when I unlock it, again, they fold completely back towards the hood.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks.

Ok...cool, thanks for the info; will take it to the dealer.
Was this for you still under warranty?

Not sure how much a new mirror is...

it should be covered under manufacturer warranty. they said it was a malfunction but i think they installed it wrong because, i brought in my car for them to replace the outside cover because it was dented a little when i bought my car CPO. then a week later i started having clicking and folding backwards thing. so i brought it in again and they fixed it by replacing the whole right side mirror.
