theres a little metal rod on the floor that the belt attaches to, its supposed to go all the way back when you take it off, and all the way front when you put it on.

I've noticed if i have something on the floor that doesn't let it go all the way back when i take it off, when i come back in the arm doesnt catch the belt.

its a cool little device and a wow factor when it works..
BUT.. wouldnt it be better to have the same belt system that the convertibles have through the seat itself???

I've noticed that when a passenger prematurely reaches for the belt before the car is ready, the car won't give it. Like she gets pissed.

When I had my coupe, I wasn't overly impressed with the automatic seatbelt thing, I like my standard one now in the sedan. I don't mind reach over a few extra inches and getting it myself to not be bothered with that thing not working right...

I would like to know if there is a way to tune it up so it grabs the damn belt every time. I would say I am getting about a 50% success rate.

Mine stopped catching the belt after a while because the belt had gotten too soft. Had the dealer replaced the belt and haven't had any problems since. I can imagine that it will happen again sometime down the road long after the warranty expires at which point I'll just rip the whole system out.
