i always say this when someone gets backed into, cover your ass. have witnesses phone numbers and get police reports or anything you can in writing with an admission of their guilt.

it is real easy later on for them to change their story and say that you rear ended them since the damage supports that.

How does the insurance work, do you mean the dealership is covering? Every time I had a loaner it's my personal insurance that's covering, even though in the glove there is a liability policy.

S*** we once got a rental car with 8 miles on it, and the wheel covers got stolen in Montreal! I tried to tell the guy it had wheel covers that got stolen figuring my AMEX would cover, and the guy said, "Are you sure it had wheel covers when you picked it up? Maybe it didn't have any wheel covers." and he winked, I guess less paperwork for him?

Yes it will be the lady and her insurance. If they don't cover it, you will be on the hook. The dealer cannot insure other drivers.

Whew. Funny how I was worried about getting my loaner into an accident today as well. I drove an e92 today and I was totally worried because it was a 2009 model like mine, but the mileage was past 20,000 already though.

You'll be fine so long as you presumably have her insurance info. If they try to blame you, just file a subrogation claim w/ your insurance against them. Your insurance company will take care of the rest & you can sleep easy. I had a 16 yr old ease into my car at a McDonald's in Plano, & tried to claim it wasn't his fault (even though I was inside eating). I called my insurance before he could call his & just filed subrogation from the get go. I had a $600 check sent to me a week later. Bought some rubbing compound, removed the scratches & markings, & pocketed the rest of the money. I wasn't going to do a thing to hurt the kid's record until his mommy showed up & started mouthing me & the cop. He'd only been driving for a week, & I knew that mommy paid his insurance, so I hit her in the pocket book. BTW, where did this happen? I see you're in Arlington.

I was driving my friend's Porsche and some f'in 14 y.o. crashes into the rear 1/4 on a bicycle, breaks his wrist. Cops come and he got a ticket for failure to yield. Turns out he gave the cops a false ID because he really didn't live in the trailer park he said. But they told me because he was a minor it really didn't matter unless you could find his parents, which you can't, because you don't even know his real name. It s**** when you are driving someone else's car and something happens.

Yeah, that definitely sucks. Not much you can do in that situation.

Don't even call your insurance company. Just call her's and process everything through them.
