$630 every six months with State Farm for our '08 335i sedan. Of course, my wife and I aren't in our twenties any more, either. Not for some time...

insurance

I pay about 1800 a year at the age of 40. Mind you I have a 250k under/uninsured motorist policy, Full Tort (which means you can sue for pain and suffering in NJ, else you have to basically lose a limb to collect) and have maxed out all other areas of insurance. There are way too many people out there that either have no insurance or are under insured, so you are screwed in an accident if you don't take out higher limits.

What I found interesting is when my 2002 Cadillac Seville STS was totaled a couple months ago and I bought a 2008 328xi, my insurance actually went DOWN by 50 bucks a year! Go figure that one out.

Basically, across the nation, you will see dramatic drops in insurance at the age of 25 and then at 30. Mine dropped by about 50 percent at that age. Also, keep the speed tickets off of you license and inform you insurance company of ANY modifications you make to your car.

WARNING!!! If you put a 1500.00 exhaust on your car and you total it, your insurance company will NOT pay for that aftermarket piece UNLESS you pay a few dollars more a year (about 15-50) for a supplemental policy on your car (depends on how much aftermarket parts you put on and at what cost). I found this out the hard way when my caddy was totaled with a Corsa exhaust and a 800 dollar remote radar detector because I got NOTHING extra for those parts!

Insurance agent told me of horror stories where customers put like 10k into lift kits for their trucks and get NOTHING when the truck is totaled because they did not spend a few dollars more a year on supplemental policy. Of COURSE, insurance companies NEGLECT to let you know about these additional policies unless you ask, so beware, read the fine print and make sure to ask your agent questions!

Mercury has been amazing for me. 26 years old, no tickets or accidents, and I pay $500 every 6 months. I drove a 4 year old Acura, and they quoted me a LOWER rate with the 335i.

I pay just under $600 for the whole year (full coverage). I am 35, live in the burbs, nothing on my driving record except 4 accidents in the last 10 years, but the accidents don't count because they are line of duty. Which I had to explain to the insurance company when they tried to raise my rates last year. but it probably helps that the same company insures all my cars and both houses so it's a multi-rate.

For the 335 I pay 850 $ a year with every option known to man, for the old e46 330 I pay 50 $ more. I'm 35.
The insurance company said that the older car is more expensive, as younger people can afford it and they tend to crash.

I pay $212 every 6 months ($424 a year) for full cover + under/uninsured + rental car coverage + 24/7 roadside assistance for two drivers (my wife and I) and a $500 deductible.

We're both 33 and married (obviously). We do have our other car and our home insurance policy through the same bank (USAA) so we probably get a discount due to that. No accidents or moving violations in the last 10 years.

$110/month for full coverage, towing, rental reimbursement, medical payments for both our BMW & Audi. We have USAA (I'm 34, wife is 30), & both have a few tickets on our records. Not everyone is eligible for USAA; you typically have to be current or former military or federal law enforcement, BUT you may still qualify if one of these categories applies to one of your family members (i.e. parents).

FWIW, my wife works for esurance & they have pretty decent rates. When everyone else was raising rates 2 years ago, they stayed the same due to forecasting market trends & taking appropriate measures in advance.

Age 40. $1298 every 6 months via Gecko for my 4 cars (10 335i, 05 Stang GT, 97 corolla, 83 380SL Benz). The 335 and Stang have $500.00 deductibles for collision and comprehensive coverage while the Corolla and the Benz have only the liability coverage.

Switched from Nationwide 2 years ago, after they decided they were going to raise my premium by $500+. Yeah. They were definitely not on my side. Fargin bastages!!!
