Peeling center Console warranty?
Hey everyone, I am about to hit my 50k miles and I'm up to the last few things to fix up. I got all the engine problems checked out and mostly everything is taken care of in preparation. But I have this one issue left. The back portion of my center console is peeling tremendously. The funny thing is I brought the car in yesterday to fix the entire center console including the back. While I was at school my dad went to pick it up and I guess didn't notice they didn't fix the back. Do you think I should bring this back in to fix the issue? They mentioned something about scratches voiding the peeling warranty. And the portion right above the ashtray is peeling and has a few scratches on it (you can see in the pictures). So basically do you guys believe that the dealership will replace the back portion of the center console and the portion right above the ashtray (excluding the vents and ashtray itself). Do they have any right to say wear and tear? I'm at 49800 miles so I am cutting it close I want your opinion before I actually drive all the way over there.

It's worth a shot to ask, certainly, but that looks like the result of a lot of shoe contact by rear seat passengers. It certainly doesn't look like it's peeling on its own but it can't hurt to ask.

^+1 never hurts to ask. My steering wheel airbag was replaced because the roundel was a little faded. While they programmed the new airbag, they programmed my alarm for free, even after they had told me it would be $135!

yeah it is pretty bad
They were nice about replacing it yesterday but they only replaced the front which had similar damage. Maybe I can call them and email them pictures before I go there so they can decide. Its a 50 mile drive to the dealership unfortunately |

I've gotten them to replace the door handle on the driver door (where you pull it closed) because it was peeling, the center console was peeling everywhere (probably from the seatbelt hitting it/my arm) and trim around the radio all under warranty, so they can definitely do it.
