There are like 9 threads in OT right now about this. I suggest looking there.

Depends on what you want

If it were me I would chose in this order

ROLEX DSD
PAM 312
ROLEX GMT II
IWC Pilot

To be honest you cant go wrong with any of these.

Have you considered an IWC 3717?

Seriously tough choices.
I used to sell those (except the iwc).

My $ .02: The new GMT II is the safest choice due to its size - got one myself. It's the perfect everyday/every occasion watch. If you go for a larger watch (1) make sure it looks good on your wrist and (2) make sure you really like it and your not just buying into a fad. Ive got a Panerai too, but IF the large-size trend dies I may be stuck with an devalued watch in 10yrs. Best of luck on the purchase!

thank you very very much for your input. this was the kinda stuff i was looking for...i have no idea what i want. i like the 312 on my wrist, i actually liked the iwc bp more (but i hear resell value stinks...i'm fickle) and it's accuracy stinks? i'd love to get both a rollie and pam but i'm breaking the piggy bank as is...lol

I've had a Seamaster, currently have a Pan. and both keep/kept plain old shitty time...Yes, I have winder boxes.
I'd try the IWC, can't be worse than the other choices.
Are you left handed by any chance? The Pans. winder cover can be annoying when it hits the back of you hand when you bend your hand up.

you're talking about the chronograph function. and the 3717 isnt strictly an in-house movement. i believe they use a valjoux 7750 movement as a base, then strip off a bunch of parts and puts their own upgraded parts. i second the 3717 if you can get over the chronograph function.

I love my IWC, I'm biased though because I am a pilot. If you like this style check out Bell & Ross as well. I would aviod these watches if this is A.) your first watch B.) do not have a collection with atleast one other listed above C.) don't like big faces.

Going to add the Tag Heuer Carrera (Black Dial) to this collection. It's a great introductory level automatic watch that can be bought for about $3,000. It looks classy and can be used as a casual everyday watch.

thanks, i have an omega seamaster and it's about 7-8 years old. looking for something new and need to service the seamaster. i do not own any of these but am surrounded by them via siblings and family members and really like them.

i'm gonna skip the tag, i loved how they looked and when i was ready to buy one last year, i put it on and did not like it on my wrist one bit.
