2000 328i oil change
I have been searching for around 30 min and I keep finding threads with differnt years and engines so for my specific engine I thought I would ask where is the oil filter for my car. I am used to american cars where it is easy to find on the bottom of the oil pan on LS series of engines. I was going to put some castol GTX high mileage SAE 5w-30 in it just wondering if this wouldnt work for any reason. Thanks for the info.

Your 2000 328i requires bmw synthetic oil. The oil filter is located on the top of the engine and you will need a 36mm socket to remove it. The oil pan and drain plug are located underneeth the car ( like any car) but bmw's have plastic protective coverings. To access the oil drain plug you will need to remove the acces covering that is shaped similar to a triangle the bolt is
17mm. |
