Generally you need the following items:
1. Sports steering meant for paddle-shifting 2. A pair of Paddle-shifters 3. Wiring harness 4. Round air-bag 5. Multi-function buttons 6. Trim I may be missing out something, correct me if I'm wrong. Please check out this link for better idea. http://burgertuning.com/paddleshift.html Alternatively, you may also go to ebay to buy the tricolor-stitch M3-style steering and retrofit with all the parts I mentioned. At least that's what I do for my own Steering conversion. Here is another link for your reference: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=paddles Hope this help |

The paddle-shifters won't be cheap.. at least a few hundred dollars I think. Not sure about US, could be cheaper than in Singapore.
But definitely the M3 paddle-shifter (SMG, with + & - sign) will be way more expensive compared to the stock 335i paddle-shifter (SSG). I'm currently using the stock 335i paddle-shifter on my M3 steering, it has been retrofitted as in pulling Left one for DOWN-shift & pulling Right one for UP-shift (the Push is disabled). Pretty similar to M3 paddle-shift style. By right the stock one should be push and pull (simultaneouly left & right paddle) for down and up-shift. |
