i THINK i have appendicitis

unless you have had appendicitis or are extremely knowledgeable in this field do not reply...

sunday night i was in an incredible amount of pain from my stomach and i just thought it was a stomach ache. then after a few hours it got worse until finally it wasn't so bad and i was able to fall asleep. monday morning i was unable to attend class and was in pain from my right side all day. yesterday and today have been about the same, right under my belly button to the right side is where your appendix are and that's EXACTLY and the only sport where it hurts. i went to the doctor this morning and i pointed to the spot where it hurts and he said i would be in much worse pain if i had appendicitis. he took a urine sample and evaluated it that i do not have kidney stones, gall bladder or anything to do with my kidneys. he then prescribed me to an xray and the results will be sent to my doctor and he will call me tomorrow.

i read online that if i press my kidney area it should hurt, and should also hurt when i release...and that's exactly what is happening.

what do you guys think? please help i am very worried.

Sounds like an appendicitis. Did he do any other physical tests on you? There are ~3 of them that can indicate an appendicitis, but not positively diagnose it. And yes, that is the exact location of the appendix. There are a couple other inflammatory conditions in and around that area that produce similar symptoms to what you are having, that's why he's testing everything first. Trust me, you don't want them to cut you open just to find out its not an appendicitis. Seems like your doctor is doing the right things.

Pretty serious shit man.... if that thing ruptures you are going to have some much larger problems.

Go to the ER now. If you can go to the ER at the same hospital where your doctor is resident physician, that'd be a good thing because they might be able to pull up your x-rays and you could skip that step.

Even if that isn't the case you should go anyway. Trust me, you'll get in fast if you complain of any kind of chest/abdomen pain or pressure.

Pay the ER deductible, it isn't worth the risk.

GO GO GO GO.

the only other physical tests he did were feel my stomach and touch exactly where it hurt. i asked him if it could be appendicitis and he said "you would be in a lot of pain if it was appendicitis".

+1

Can't agree more... I'd go to ER after one day of that kind of pain, deffinitely not after three. If you can go right now, do it.

the only reason i am staying home is because of my ignorant mother who thinks that if it were my appendix i would be in a lot more pain, and she also thinks there is absolutely no way the doctor could be wrong.

Sounds like it. I'd suggest going to the hospital ASAP. If you wait to long and your appendix bursts.... Sepsis....septic shock....... probably gonna die.

Well, if so I doubt we will hear about it again.

My guess is indigestion.
