Does anyone use Wonder Wheels?

or should I pay out for some BMW cleaner? It's just that I can get loads of it for cheap!

I've got 225 wheels if it matters?

Thanks

Adam

I use wonder wheels every now and again. Needs a good rinse though as itcould be a bit harsh if left on too long.
Ive only got 4 wheels, it'll take ages to do 225.

LOL @ 225 wheels!

WW will be OK for periodic cleaning but it is a little too harsh (imo) for weekly cleans.

Poorboys wheel sealant ftw, inside and out, makes for easy cleaning.

Good stuff but too harsh to use regularly

something like espuma revolution or bilberry is nearly as good but much kinder to the wheels

haha - that was pretty funny.

Cheers for the tips. Will pick some up but will also look for something else for regular cleaning.

I use GTechniq wheel sealant http://www.gtechniq.co.uk and a very weak Bilberry or P21S (Porsche) wheel cleaner.

Often, with the gtechniq, a pressure washer alone is enough to remove the brake dust.

can't rate the stuff highly enough.

These are my weapons of choice at the moment.

Wonder Wheels is a good spot cleaner for monoblocks when painting the fence, but unless your wheels are destroyed choose a kinder way of keeping them clean.

+1 Bilberry is excellent and does not harm the wheels. Wonder wheels is too harsh and dulls the wheels over time.

Instead of Poor boys I sometimes use Collinite 476 wax on the wheels.

WW is crap, try Bilberry or Megs Wheel Brightener, use a long reach brush to get the backs done too. After ive soaked mine in either of these the jetwash gets nearly all the dirt off..

WW is a big no no if you ave cracked or chipped laquer. it will fuck them up royally if you have any bubbles. give them a decent scrub first then protect with poorboys wheel sealant, no need for anything harsh then!

At the end of the day it's dirt and grime and there are far cheaper solutions than posh cleaners. Cillit Bang spray works well and is a fraction of the cost. Doesn't harm the finish as it's just a surfacant detergent.

Bilberry is worth getting in my opinion. £25 for 5L and can be used neat or diluted up to 1:10.

It will last bloody ages especially if you build up a couple of coats of a good sealant too (like poor boys or chem guys).

I use the other Vikan:

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels.../prod_389.html

Gets between the spokes of the 225s pretty well but I also use a bog-standard brush (dust-pan and brush style brush) on the wheels too.

I get all my supplies from Clean Your Car too, very good site and the chap that runs it (Tim I think) is very helpful.

My Vikan arrived last friday and I immediately threw it down the drain with the dirty wash bucket water.

LOL, by accident. I had to send the kids on a pretend errand so I could lift the drain cover to retrieve it (after 1/2 hour searching everywhere). If They find out it opens it'll be one of them stuck down it.

If BMW designed a wheel brush it wouldn't be far off this one. I'm a bit concerned about the tip but I'll keep an eye on it. With my wheels too, I can get my whole hand in to dry but slight agitation of the diluted bilberry with the Vikan soft brush and they were spotless.
