Do rear tyres wear faster with torque
I have 14,500kms on the clock now. I was looking at my tyres and it looks like my rear tyres are worn down slightly more than the front tyres.
This isn't a bad thing as overall the front/rear wear is more 'even' that a FWD car. I drive a 320d and while I am not wild, I like using the torque so don't drive too gently. Are others with diesel engines noticing higher wear on the rear tyres due to the shovel-loads of torque these cars put down on the road? |

Never driven a diesel outside of the military but RWD cars wear the rear tires more, at least in my experience.

My rear tyres are not worn any more than the fronts, but I am careful not to apply all the power when there is any chance of the rear wheels wanting to break loose, i.e. at a red light, around town, etc. Taking corners too quickly can also cause premature wear.

mine on the back are worn more.....(on the inside)
due to the H&R sport suspension.........negative camber.... i had to turn the tires inside out and switch sides(directional tires)..... the front ones worn less and evenly........
