KUMHO ECSTA XS - Anyone have some real world feedback on these
I've been searching forums for reviews on these tires and they all come up low on info. I saw the car and driver review on them which was very brief. Does anyone have these tires and can comment on them in real world use? Ride? Road Noise? I hear they are great overall except in the wet but that's from other forums (i.e. Viper/Mazda/Benz etc). Any Bimmer guys run these?

I have 315/30/18's on the back of my Cobra. On a decently warm day, I can get traction through most of first gear and usually all of second (600whp/500tq). I'd say they are a great all around tire and I'm getting pretty good wear out of them for how much I get on it. Don't have them up front, but wish I did.
I can't really tell you how the noise is because my car is way too loud. As for the ride, mine are pretty low profile and my suspension is stiff, so I can't help you there either. But they do grip very well, going straight or around corners. I really have to nail it to get the back end to step out. |

If you are even asking about road noise or ride, this is not the tire for you. When testing these, along with other extreme performance tires we noticed that they "produced several distinct tones or growls at certain speeds making their tread noise more apparent" and had very stiff ride quality. These tires are designed for maximum dry grip in a street legal tire but do not excel at anything else.

They also give me enough confidence to drive hard in wet conditions , though my tires are still fairly new. Time will tell how they will behave after some wear. |

They are just okay in the wet. They aren't "horrible" or "dangerous" in wet conditions, nor are they bad tires...
