Dealer refused maintenance because i changed out my runflats

Last week, the warning indicator for my 335 coupe came on. My brake pads needed to be replaced. Today, I brought my car to BMW of Monrovia to have my brake pads replace. To my dismay, I am told that because I replaced my runflat tires with non-runflat tires, my warranty has been voided.

Has this happened to anyone? Is this true? I am going to call other local dealership to see if someone will still honor my warranty. This is a purchased car and not a lease.

wow! I really don't see how that affects the braking system. I'd take it to another BMW dealership.

lol, you're shitting us right? april fools?

you should've smacked the fucker that told you that. then tell him that "warranty" and "maintenance" are two different things, and that you're in for "maintenance" (at least i think that's what covers the brake pads). is he saying that it's harder to stop non-runflats (which is probably bullshit because non-runflats are lighter), and therefore that prematurely wore out your brake pads? ask for a manager.

that's ridiculous! Go to the service manager, and if that doesnt work, go to another dealer.

Umm last time I checked there was no warranty on tires or wheels anyway.. But no part of your warranty should be voided, maintenance or not.

Joke. I got some winter rims and tire (non-RFT blizzarks) package through Gary@TireRack, swapped out my OEM wheels and I have been in to dealer twice and no one said a damn thing.
