New TPMS sensors, does the dealer need to register them with the car?

I've picked up a new set of summer rims for my car and a set of used TPMS sensors. I'm keeping the original ones that came with the car in the stock rims to use as a winter set. So my question is, once I get theses installed in the rims do I need to go to a dealership for the car to pick them up or is it automatic? Also if this is necessary, would I need to repeat the process when I switch back to my winter set?

Thanks for the help

Nope...Plug and play...you can reset the TPMS from your dash...sometimes you just need to drive around a few miles to get the light to turn off ....

Thanks for the quick reply. That's what I thought, but the guy at discount tire who I called to get a quote told me that I would have to bring it to the dealer. Must be thinking of an older car.

Some makes require a trip to the dealer, like many Lexus and some Infiniti cars, but not BMW.
