Adding aftermarket Sub(s)/Amp!

i was reading the other threads on aftermarket audio upgrades but was not able to answer the following questions...

if the 335icoupe came with the L7 speakers...is it necessary to tap into any of the stock speakers in order to add an amp/sub combo? and does the stock receiver have an amp input for the aftermaket amp?

and is there any compromises if this can be done?
