Rotating window switches DIY?
I almost always roll down the back windows when trying to roll down the front on my E90. Drives me nuts. Is there a DIY out there anywhere that makes the closest switches control the front windows and the further the back? I think that would solve it for me.

Pop the switch out and see if you can swap out the wiring... it can't be that complicated... but then again BMW tends to over-engineer things, I can just imagine when you press the button and encrypted signal is fired from the switch to the main computer

you might be able to do it w/out taking the door panel off.

i'd imagine it would be as easy as popping the switches and splicing the wires. but knowing bmw it'd probably throw a code lol

This bothers me too but no so much as to switch the wires around. I have taken the door panel off and unplugged the cluster of window switches. It is one harness that comes off by flipping a lever....like many other harnesses in the car. You would then need to find which wires control the rear windows and swap them with the fronts. This is very possible. I would take the door panel off though. It's allot easier to remove the cluster from the inside than from the exterior. Plus damage is more likely to occur when prying than pushing.

Btw I doubt a code will be thrown...our switches, in the e90 at least, are common to some other models such as the x5. I had to order a new switch for my passenger side door because I broke the lever to open and close the window. I have had the the switch unplugged for the past 2 months and no errors.
