Official INFO on RS5

Something of interest my buddy picked up on his STi forum ... official info on the new RS5. Drop dead gorgeous but they are out of their minds on the sticker price.

http://forums.clubsi.com/ubbthreads....547264/fpart/1

Anyone heard anything further on these?

The design is outstanding... I am feeling some elements of the R8 in the back. I'd be interested to see if this car becomes a maintenance nightmare as it ages.

450hp high-revving V8 ? Doesn't sound good at all ! It is on par with the M3 GTS, but in these days properly designed turbo feel beats the naturally aspirated feel.

I'll take the seats but nothing else..plus its pretty heavy and overpriced. I'd just get a GT-R and pocket the cash.

It be a nice car to have for 65K anything over they can keep. Overpriced Audi's don't interest me.

if you read further down the thread, they say that it'll be cheaper when it arrives on our shores. 80-85k would be my guess. it doesnt make sense for them to make it any more than that. even that is kinda nuts because you're well in GT-R territory. i wish BMW would take notes on Audi interior design.

LOVE the seats.... but wayyy too expensive for a car that is heavier than the M3 and not much more power

YES! I was soo tempted to get the S5 when I was looking at my 335 just for the interior. However I didn't really want a V8 (let me rephrase... I didn't want to feed a V8) so it was out.

0-60 in 4.6?? So realistically 4.4? I know its not all about 0-60 times but for 100k it should definitely be in the high 3's or very low 4's.

Relax people it will not be that much. At 100+k it would eat away at the 120K R8 sales which most people would get for a minor difference.
