Nay. Guy sounds like a moron and has absolutely no idea what hes talking out. I'd be reluctant to let him change my oil let alone rebuild the front end and supposedly replace all the airbags.

my buddy is contemplating on asking his brother to try trade his 2004 Acura TL Type S ASpec for this thing. Told him it would be a utter and complete waste of time and money for him.
1) Fuel pump is blown "safe mode?" or "limp mode?" 2) Salvage Title 3) No Warranty@22K miles 4) Pretty sure BMW won't honor the HPFP warranty on this thing. Correct me if I am wrong.. 5) This thing is going to be a money pit.. pretty sure its going to be "as-is"

Money pit. Its not even fixed yet. They guy did some body work and cant figure the electrical out. Obviously if he knew what was up he would have gone to the dealer for a reprogramming or whatever is needed but there must be more to the story.
The guy should keep his Acura. If he cant afford to get into a BMW with a warranty and whatnot he probably shouldn't be driving one. No need to get into a car thats going to suck the wallet dry. I'm with you, keep telling him to stay away. |

If the seller spent so much time and money fixing the car, I can only imagine that the remaining problem is very complex (aka engine damage or transmission damage). Otherwise he could have spent some money on a fix and sell it with more than $18k. So I think the car has major damage remaining.

The guy had to have bought it for himself, fixed it, and tried to take it in for the HPFP but they told him he was Sh*t out of luck on any kind of warranty on the HPFP or anything else for that matter.. If my friend does it and tries to get it... he's an idiot...

I'm confused. If the car had such minor damage, how did it get written off with that kind of mileage????? I'd suspect a bunch of hidden issues.
I'd give it a big NAY as well. Looks like trouble. |

Nay, nothing good could come of purchasing it.
