e91 325i petrol slow build up

hi, i have a 2006 325i petrol e91 touring 6 speed manual, the problem is that it seems to be holding back all the way through the rev range, it will still reach high speeds but takes longer and jerks all the way there,
the engine light isnt on and i had it pluged in with a snapon scanner, no faults where found, i have just changed the air flow meter but this has had no real impact on the problem, please please advise what steps to take next
