3 Used 335's - Which one? (UPDATED WITH PURCHASE
Thanks again for all the replies. After the overwhelming response to go CPO, I did just that. Funny enough, it was none of the ones listed below. In fact, Option 1 ended up being a total waste of time. I drove 300+ miles only to find out Beverly Hills BMW doesn't know the difference between Leather and Leatherette. Also, they attempted to cover up a badly-damaged-then-badly-repaired drivers seat. Crap. The other two vehicles were great but CPO was the way for me in the end.
Oh, and I had to give up the MT for an AT. At least I found the exact color/combination I wanted. Cost me just a little more than the others but well worth it considering nearly 3.5yrs of CPO warranty. 2007 335 coupe AW on Black Auto Tran 25k miles Premium Sport Comfort Cold Weather Ipod L7 CPO til 4/13/2013 Beautiful ride. Now, on with the mods. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> I'm torn between two cars that are nearly identical. Same color and same price at $30k. I'm hoping experienced 335 owners can chime in and state which one they would purchase Both are '07 E92 335 Space Grey on Black. Both with Sport, Premium & Sirius. Differences below: Option 1 29k miles from Dealership 3yrs / 71k miles remaining CPO warranty no other options Option 2 36k miles from Private Party Navigation 1 yrs / 14k miles remaining manufacturer warranty +3 yrs (max 100k miles) remaining for extended MAINTENANCE warranty Option 3 (+$1000) 25k miles from Private Party Navigation Cold Weather 1 yrs / 25k miles remaining manufacturer warranty In short, is it more important for a CPO warranty or nav/bt and a maintenance warranty? I must say I have a Droid phone and simply put, that Nav BLOWS away every other car nav. But maybe nav is good for resale value. Thoughts are more than welcome! CPO dealer car. Also, I believe in '07 the Premium Pkg included BMW Assist with Bluetooth. Roll with a portable Garmin Navi.

Go with the dealer, try to get the dealer down in price or get some extra stuff.

Take the non-dealer car to the dealer and see if they will CPO it. Personally, I would go with the non-dealer car. There is a lot more to the Nav than just Nav in our cars.
Also, are these prices after negotiating? You might be able to get one down more than the other.

On the second car.....does it have BOTH extended maintenance AND extended warranty? They are sold separate. You can buy the warranty or the maintenance.........or both.

Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming! This really helps and I greatly appreciate it!
Should I be surprised that so many people opt for the CPO car? I'm guessing its the fear of problems/cost of repairs that make so many concerned. Personally, all this talk of HPFP and injectors going bad makes me worry. Great information about Premium package coming standard with Bluetooth. Can anyone else confirm this? To answer the questions... - Both are negotiated but I think I may be able to get a little more off. - The Private Party car only purchased the extended maintenance warranty. The factory warranty remains for just another year. I called the dealership to see if they would convert the maintenance warranty to CPO. They said maintenance warranty cannot be refunded. I asked what the cost of making it CPO, they stated $4295 for Platinum and $3795 for Gold coverage. I think that's NOT CPO.... sounds more like an extended warranty that the dealership simply sells. Either way, I don't want to spend another 3-4k on a warranty. That's pretty steep for 3 more years coverage. Keep the comments rolling. |

PS... There's possibly another option...
Basically, same price but with these features... Option 3 25k miles from Private Party Navigation Bluetooth Cold Weather 1 yrs / 25k miles remaining manufacturer warranty Does that change the answer or is everyone still thinking CPO trumps all? |

Option 1, you won't go wrong with CPO, and 07 idrive may look nice, but after spending hours trying to figure out how it works, you may find a $200 TomTom starting to sound a lot better.

BT is part of the premium package.
While I would say that nav adds more than just nav (iDrive for example,) the '07 iDrive isn't much to write home about. CPO |

Personally, Id opt for the private party car. Nav, to me, is very valuable IMO.
I cant stand e9x's interiors with out it, I think they look plain and boring. I think if you get an extended warranty on the private party, you will be just fine. |

Are you sure option 1 doesn't have Bluetooth, via the head unit?

I'd probably go with either Option 3 or Option 1. I know lots of people don't like iDrive but I think its pretty cool. |
