cars with green shade on windshield

Who ordered this option? I'm replacing my windshield and decided to get one with it.

I wanna hear what you guys who had this as option think of it. Besides looks (debatable if it looks good, i think its a bit 90s), does it help with glare?

I've seen it on almost all Msport cars in europe btw and i had it on my old msport E36 as well.

Below is a sample from remmib's car who is a member here (hope he doesn't mind I used his pic).

up until recently, thats the standard windshield for the US.

never really noticed it blocking glare, if the sun is coming in at that angle, i have the visor down, or sunglasses on.

Thought it was more of a blue, but anyway I think it helps a bit when the sun gets right between the visors.

I do not have the density filter stripe on my car now and I wish I had. In several of my previous cars, darker area in the upper part of the windshield increased contrast and improved vision. Since the stripe works, the subjective appearance is immaterial - in a car that is driven, form always follows function. The question how well it works likely depends on each driver, his seating position and on the car. You already know how it will work for you, since you had it on your M-sport. The 3-series windshield is quite steep and the seating position, even with sport seats, is biased toward luxury, away from sport, but the stripe will still work. If you want to be quite sure, get a strip of similar color plastic, put it on the windshield for a few days, and see.

I would get it if it was my only option. I would prefer a deeper tint right there, or something that I could use to physically block the glass in between the mirror and the top of the windshield. My old Audi used to have this.
