Anyone know what is this "optical connector" under driver's side?
Was trying to replace my clutch stop as per this website http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...IY-388-22.html and pulled down the panel below the steering wheel, and on the left side, was this black part described as an "optical connector" by the website.
It had two wires going to it, and the end of it was just a square black cap visible from under the panel. No idea what it does. I pulled on it sort of hard though to get it off and want to make sure I didn't break it. Anyone know what it's supposed to do, and how to check it's working? Here's a pic of it once the panel's been dropped: . . . |

It is the MOST fiber optics bus diagnostics connector. It is used to connect programming equipment that can be used to code new modules, diagnose issues, etc. It has a loop connector attached to it at the end. Do not remove that connector because you will brake the MOST fiber loop and your Bluetooth, satellite, USB and other MOST attached devices won't work. The two (green I think) cables connected to it are actually fiber optic cables that have fiber (glass) strands in them. Do not bend them much or pull them.
