Depends on what you want to do with the car: back-country winding roads or a track, M3 all the way. Just cruising around or commuting, the C63 (though they're both overkill for a commuter car).

Also, depends on if you want a manual transmission or a DCT. If yes to either, then the M3 is your only choice.

I got the car on August 31st 09, and have barely put any miles on it so far. (about 1400 today.)
I baby the car and even though I take such good care of it, it has been giving me problems left and right.
I have already had my fuel pump replaced, the interior consistently finds a new place to squeak on a daily basis, and I just do not want to have to deal with it anymore.
If BMW does do the right thing and take my car back as a lemon, I want to get either an e90/2 m3 or mercedes c63 amg.

the c63 is a bit cheaper than the m3...
with the options I chose, the c63 came out to about 69k, wheras the m3 was about 74k.

The c63 was also optioned with the p31 amg development package which includes engine upgrades, revised ecu, better brakes, etc. (like the competition package on the e46 m3) and a $2000 limited slip diff.

which should i choose? m3 or c63...

as much as i LOVE bmws and m cars, the c63 is just savage and beautiful!
M3. Well balanced, smooth power delivery, ridiculous 8K+ rpms. But in the words of Jeremy Clarkson in the Top Gear review of the C63, RS4, and M3:

"The C63 is like an axe murderer with headlights...and I absolutely adore it."

C63 is what I would choose.

Yes sir. AMG didn't leave its customers with many options regarding a transmission, did they?

Hey, spoiled brat, why dont you just enjoy your car and not blame everything on bmw?

According to this post, you babied your car and did no major mods except a new shift knob/boot and scoops:http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=341278

Yet 10 days before that post, you posted another thread saying you had, among other things, JB3 PnP 1.4, Helix FMIC, and A&R Catless Downpipes: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...04#post6469704

#1: if you do mods and your car breaks down for some reason, suck it up and pay for it. dont make the rest of us pay for it through the higher fees bmw has to charge to cover people like you. everyone knows about hpfp and chose to accept the risk. dont whine about it. rattles are annoying, but maybe if you drove your car more you'd find out what many of us have -- the rattles come and go, but the driving pleasure outweighs the annoyances of the rattles for the most part.

#2: you're a student. concentrate on your studies so that we dont have to support your ass through welfare 10 years later.

The M3 would be a pretty damn good choice, esp if you want the MT. C63 is a brilliant car as well. If you want to save a bit, maybe you should check out the brand new S4s. I really like them a lot.

I'm on my second bimmer and have never heard a rattle or squeak out of either. Too bad your having problems with your 335.

Anyways, if your going to track it, get the M3. For everyday, I think the mental 6.2l AMG engine would be more fun. Watch the top gear review, if you havent seen it:

m3 is more manly and it is more of a collector's car. The M3 is much nicer than the C63and it has somewhat of a legacy as being a sports car.

Seems like the OP doesnt really do enough driving to need a car, $70,000 and you drive less than 300 miles a month? Thats a pretty outrageous sum per mile driven.

also those 1400miles must have been offroad (over rocks and boulders) to produce squeaks and rattles so early

shortly he will be recruited into the BIA (Bimmerpost Intelligence Agency), thats for sure lol.

And yes, MB's are for girls its what you give the wife, not yourself.

to the OP, if you barely drive then get the MB, let someone else take that M3 whos really going to use it.

Go with the AMG, BMW's were meant to be driven. 1400 miles in 6 months makes me feel sick.

LOL the BIA

Yes sir. Maybe I'd get my wife a G37S coupe, or even an Audi. Something that I know wouldn't kill her should she accidentally hit the gas too hard

But very true BMW "M's" are not ALL for show.
