PDC Malfunction
When I have a question I go to the experts here at E-90 Post.
My problem. I just started up my car, put it into reverse and the continuous warning sound came on along with the right rear red warning indicator on the screen. I got out, walked to the back, and there was no obstruction anywhere. I drove it around the block, put it in reverse, same warning. It's 13 degrees outside so I checked to see if the sensor button on the bumper had any snow or ice on it. Nothing. It does appear that the button is a tad depressed compared to the sensor on the left side. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Mine has only done this when there is snow covering one of the sensors.

Happens to me all the time when Im backing out of my garage. I think the sensor is picking up the garage door pillar.

Actually it happens when completely out of the garage and with nothing even remotely near the back of the car.

id get up in behind the bumper and try to pop out the sensor so that its flush. if its beeping really fast, it could be pressed in too much and picking up on the bumper itself.

It is one continuous uninterrupted sound. Really annoying sound. I have a dealer appt. set for Feb 10th. I guess the solution is to only go forward for the meantime, no backing up.

Problem solved. I put a small space heater out in the garage in the area of the offending sensor. It now functions properly.
So..... as long as the car was running, I said "why not"? Off I go on one of my 30 mile runs to nowhere. I love my car. Thanks to all for your thoughts and suggestions.

I'll vote for that. May I vote multiple times?
