3rd party accessories work on OEM BMW Base Support?

Not sure where this belongs so I apologize if it's in the wrong section.

Has anyone tried to use 3rd party accessories (Thule, Yakima) on the BMW base support?

My snowboard is now too large for the OEM snowboard carriers (too wide) and I am thinking I'm going to need something like this:

BMW base support

Now I hear the newer Thule and Yakima accessories are starting to come with wider factory rack fitting connection points and I'm thinking maybe, just maybe it will fit onto the base support (pictured below)

I'm pretty sure its called a base system so that you can add on other components to it. I had the base system for my old x5 and had Thule mounts and load bars on it. I still have the load bars actually...I'll let them go for 70 plus shipping. Let me know if your interested. Also I'm pretty sure BMW doesn't make load bars...that's why I had to get Thule.

Edit: Ohh and maybe the mounts will work too....not sure but I'll throw in the mounts aswell if I can find them.

no see I don't want to buy a new rack system because I already have the OEM base support. I just want to add the Yakima snowboard carrier to the BMW base support and was wondering if anyone has done the same (now that Yakima and Thule are saying their making components to fit factory racks).

I think you're going to have to drive over to REI with the rack on and see. Yakima makes mounts now for BMW, but you said you don't want to replace the rack you have and I understand.

thanks guys, went to REI and confirmed the fit of the Big Powderhound on the BMW base support so it works (just have to use the provided longer screws for the mounts).
