2009 Headlights?

Hey,

Ive got my 07 335i and am pretty much over the orange reflecter in the headlights. I read the DIY about removing it but it sounds more like id have to break my lights and then put them back together... eh? Anyhow, would it be worth it to just go for the 09 lights? Has anyone purchased+installed these? Idk if it makes a difference, but i have the adaptive lights... Thanks for the input

Hi,
Have you considered Ambergone's? When I had my 2006 330xi, I wanted to get rid of the orange reflectors in the headlights as well. I started researching replacing the headlights like you are, however I found it was going to be too expensive. I ended up using Ambergone's.

Here's a pic of my 330 with them installed. They are essentially laser cut vinyl that you apply over the orange reflectors. It goes on similar to window tint. I ordered mine here: Ambergone. I had the gunsmoked on my 330. They looked pretty good and I saved quite a bit of money by going this route.

Cheers,
John

the 07 and 09 are two different headlights, shapes and forms. so no.
you would have to go euro headlight route or overlay.

they do make
09 look-a-likes for yours also

thx, i do like the look of that... not quite as much as the 09 lights but hey, im on a budget so it might be the best option...

BTW, your car looks identical (outside the ambergone's) to mine.

Thanks, I was a little hesitant at first about ordering the Ambergones - wasn't sure how vinyl overlays would look, but thought I'd take a chance and once I got them and installed them, they actually looked really good. Agree they are a bit pricey for a few pieces of vinyl, but they served the purpose and did exactly what I wanted them too (and MUCH cheaper alternative than replacing the headlights). Actually got a lot of compliments on them from other BMW drivers...

Enjoy the ride...

Yeah, those 09's have LED's and run about $1800 (informed by my local dealer when I asked them about it). Apparently overlays are only aftermarket and not offered by BMW at all. The white overlays are standard on Euro spec. I had that EXACT same inquiry, and was going to make a thread about it until I saw this Longtran (LTBMW) has them for sale as well, send him a PM.

I am also tired of my ambers, I had been searching this topic for awhile
