LeMans or Alpine?
So my two ordered 335i sedans are coming in very soon. Since I work at the dealer, they let me order two different cars!
Here is the catch. The Blue comes to port on 1/19/10 and the white will be at port likely 2/24/10. The white one got ordered and wasn't started until after X-mas factory break! I will list my pros and cons for each color. Let me know if theres anything else I am missing! If it helps, car will be GIAC Stage 2+ like Mr. 5s car. Coils, 19s, vorsteiner E90 trunk and front lip when it comes out. LeMans Blue The Pros: Unique at meets, shows E90 lines a bit better. Arrives 1 month earlier. ///M color The Cons: Hides Carbon Fiber components, might get sick of exotic color, $550 extra for paint and 1 month early extra lease return payment. Alpine White The Pros: Proven best all around looking for E90 imo, carbon fiber accent contrast looks amazing, save $640 for extra lease payment and $550 for non metallic paint. The Cons: Just another AW E90 at a meet, One more month to wait! ugh, |

Both look amazing, but to me the alpine white is beautiful and i myself will be looking for a white sedan as my nest ride so i have to give my nod to the AP

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm leaning towards AW because I think it will age better, it's a more timeless color, easier maintenance, etc. Nowhere near as unique as Lemans, though. I have yet to see a Lemans on the road, but AWs are everywhere. That's the dilemma.

I have AW...
Lemans.... For sure... White just hides scratches so easily... I HATE it when Im detailing it. Its as if you are not even fixing anything. AW is amazing, but its played. |

Go with the LeMans Blue. I am so sick of seeing white and black BMW's. Granted they look good..... I just love the exotic BMW colors and they are rare to see. They always catch my eye vs just the b/w ones.

You work at a dealership and you publicly post that your car will be GIAC tuned??
You either have balls, or you just don't care about your warranty... As for the color, I have AW and it is beautiful... but lemans is more unique since it only comes with the M-tech so I would go Lemans Either way, I hope you got saddle !! |

Both colors are hot.
Let me ask you this.....do you like detailing/waxing your car or are you the type that just runs it through a car wash and call it a day? Will the car be parked in a garage or outside exposed? If you like waxing your car and its going to be garaged I would go with Lemans. I love how a nice bmw blue looks after a good wax job. White is nice but you really can't tell much of a difference before and after a wax job which is also why I went with it. I only have outdoor parking in my condo complex and I would be tempted to wax a lemans blue car every week if i had it while with AW I just need to wash it/quick detail it. Win win situation for you eitherway Alan

You're going to see my car tomorrow, so you can see for yourself how a lemans lowered with 19s looks!
Oh, and I may be biased, but I had the same decision before I ultimately went with lemans. Like others have said before, AW is a really nice color, but you just see them everywhere. Plus, I think AW is really feminine unless you do a lot of the right mods to it.

I personally never really like white-colored cars UNTIL seeing the e46s in AW. And of course now, the e90s and e92s. If you haven't owned an AW before, I would go with that color. You can't lose. I owned a e46 330ci ZHP in AW before. Got a lot of compliments and it was pretty easy to maintain. The other thing about AW is that mods like new front bumpers or rear bumpers just stand out more in AW. Black or CF rear diffusers also look amazing against AW.
Of course, I'm on the darkside now, and loving it

Both colors are excellent. Do you really care that much how your car is received at meets? Remove that from your process.

thanks for all the great response.
Surprisingly, the LeMans seems to be beating out the AW. I estimated it would be 2:1 ratio AW to LeMans. I am going to go with LeMans. |
