'10 1 Series - SOUNDS WAY better then e93
Damn roof on my e93 328i Sulev starting leaking so its in for service. They gave me 2010 128i 1 series.
I've been driving it around quite a lot and it sounds A LOT better then my car. Is there a different exhaust in this 1 series? What do you guys think? Does the Sulev have a different exhaust/muffler then the regular 328 Ulev? Cheers, Machine Last edited by machine; 01-12-2010 at 10:45 PM.. |

There definitely is a difference between pre-LCI and LCI 3ers. While neither sound amazing from the outside, the growl inside is much more noticeable on the LCI cars from my experiences.

Definitely agree here. BMW "pumped" a really good sound into the cabin. From the inside, it sounds better than even my '06 M3. (From the outside, it's another story.)

The 2010 328i sounded like a whirl almost like an electric motor.

Maybe MT vs. AT has something to do with it? I quite like the sound the NA engine makes past 3k RPM, again, from the inside. But I have been in several pre-LCI 328's that sound terrible.

i don't know... probably not but since it is a smaller car, you probably hear the exhaust more because there is less "car" between you and the exhaust...

Even more likely, they probably tuned the 1er to sound a bit more sporty than the 3.

Anyone know if the SULEV version has a diffrent exhaust then the ULEV version of the 328i?
Oh and if just wanted to do ONE thing to make my car sound better, would you guys go for the exhuast or intake? A buddy of mine has a Gruppe M intake on his e46 325ci and it sounds BEAST. |
