335i vs 330i
Debating on whether or not to get the 335i or not. I can get 330i's all day long for $20k, but the best 335i I can find is $7500 more. Trying to figure out if it's worth that kinda of monday for a daily driver. What do you think? Get the 330i or spend more on the 335i?

To your original question: It's total BS. They're going to chance a low bid at auction after they have a solid offer from you? Not likely. Dealers sell cars to wholesalers, who, in turn, take the cars to auction. Dealers BUY cars from auctions. They do not auction cars. Is another dealer (at auction) going to offer them retail price for this car? Never.
ALL dealers are liars and scumbags. Wish them good luck. You move on. |

If the 330i is good for you then do it. Test drive them both, but if you drive the 335i, you will probably want it.

+1 Exactly. Plus if you ever felt the need for more power it's easier with the 335i... although there's a lot to be said about the N/A 3.0, it's a great revving engine.

the 335 is going to be quite a bit faster, you have to determine how much that is worth to you

I would recommend the 330i..I have a 06 330i with 83,000 miles and I have never had any problems with the car. I read all the horror stories about the fuel pumps on the 335i everyday on this thread..that is enough to keep me away from the 335i...just my 2 cents

All things being equal, I'm not sure it's worth $7500 for a 335 over a 330. They are both great cars in their own right.

i test drove a 330i and an M3 in 2008 before I could afford the 335i.
I loved the 330i because it felt so smooth and luxurious. The shifting and steering felt butter smooth and I liked the updated tech and features in the newer gen...... Then I drove the e46 M3. It was a joy to drive with all the power and the amazing sound. It put a big smile on my face and I wanted the e46 M3 at that point because it was fast and exciting. Then came the 335i a bit later - I think it combines some of the e46 M3's good looks (I don't want a 4 door) and it takes all the power of the M3 and all of the comfort/smoothness/quietness of the 330i in one great package

The 335i is definitely better than the 330i. I have an E46 330xi and an E92 335i. I understand you can get the newer 330i, but the 335i is much better and well worth the car.
However, the fact that you're actually debating between them and price is a bigger issue, get the 330i. You'll still love it. |

It depends on how long you want to keep the car.
If you want to take it well past 100K miles, I'd get the 330i. If you intend to keep it for a short while, the 335i will give you more thrills. |

A big chunk of the difference in price is the age of the car.
