Well, how do you like it?
Anyone of you give up a 350Z for it and was it worth it? |

i absolutely love it. I have had the car since tuesday. I have "snuck" out of my house at least once after everyone else went to sleep to go for a drive... just can't get enough! Let's just call it coupe-crack.
Aside for not really knowing what to do with 300hp, I have not a single complaint. |

Turned in my 350Z and picked up my 335i. Different cars entirely and at this point in my life the 335i is what I want.

I leased the Z in 2003 on an impulse and it was good fun; lots of torque and hp and you feel the 3.5L 6, all of it which is good and bad. There is much more of a feel of what the suspension, engine and tires will do with the Z; it is much more immediate, more raw. The 335 is more refined in how it delivers everything. It is the car I prefer now and am able to afford financially now as well.
As an example, I have read how much many think the ride with RFT tires is rough. My Z had conventional Bridgestone summer performance and they are, in my experience, at least 2-3 times as hard a ride than the 335 on RFTs. Also, the Z is definitely less practical; there were many times when I could not drive as much as I love driving simply because the Z is a 2 seater. The trunk space is also very limited due to the strut brace dissecting the area. I would have it as a second car but as a primary/only car it is impractical/not what I need now.

i also had a 2003 350z touring. i'm much happier in the 335 so far. that car tore up my aftermarket tires in just 6k miles due to a design flaw, had LOTS of rattles, the cabin was clustrophobic, the bose radio sucked immensely, the engine was rough and raucous, and it didn't feel nearly as fast as the 335. oh and the shifter was notchy as all hell would grind into gear occasionally. other than that it was fun to drive, but it was def. my last nissan.

wow everyone that's ridden in my 335 says it pushes them back in the seat much more than the z. i notice it too. it's actually a pretty common comment regarding the 350z on my350z.com etc; the power is so linear that it just doesnt feel that fast. |

I am not referring to the actual thrust; the 335 has plenty. I was expressing how much more sensational, in terms of sound and feel the Z is and the Z has more of a kick, but that may be because I have been trying to keep the 335 under 4000 rpm. I think in the end, they are doing close to the same but I definitely hear and feel everything in the Z more.

oh ok i'll certainly agree on feeling things more...vibrations from the road/engine/etc. i had 19's on mine so it made it even more of a harsh ride. the exhaust note on the z was cerrtainly more pronounced and better sounding than the 335..that was one of my favorite aspects of the car. At high speeds around curves (like on i-95) the z scared the heck out of me..just didnt inspire confidence like the 335 does. felt like the tail could come out at any moment.

I had never owned a German car let alone a BMW before my E92... getting this coupe as my intro to BMW was probably the best major decision I ever made (besides college and grad school)!
I can't believe how smooth the ride is even during high speeds and fast accelerations... the cornering is just phenomenal compared to the last sports car I drove (Pontiac Trans Am WS6)... the interior is just clean and I love the aggressive look of the ride! Like others, I find reasons to just go out and drive this beast on the highway... it's just too much fun!

Along with the rest. This is my first BMW of my own. I traded in my 2005 RX-8 for this and I do not regret it at all. I miss some of the cornering ability the RX had but that is about it... Even with a faulty GPS, I couldn't be happier.
Money can buy happiness, and this car is proof of that. I freaking love it, and I am always looking for a reason to drive it. It's softer than the RX-8 but there is no loss in fun, or excitement.

I had a modded 350Z before this. As stated the Z is more raw. It was a true sports car. The cable materials were cheap and it rattled like crazy. But the car was very athletic. IMO the handling on the Z is better than my 335i. I felt everything with the Z, more intuned to the road.
Overall I like the Z.. I do like the 335i a bit more, but often times I wonder if I should have opted for the C6.. |

Had mine for close to 2 months now and love it. But, after driving and now feeling more use to the car, I see why everyone hates the RFT's. I think it makes the car feel less stable too.
Now as far as a 350z goes, my roommate has one. He had already considered getting a new car, and when he saw mine, thought about getting into a 335 Sedan. He hasn't even driven mine yet. He's impressed though. When I showed a friend of mine last week how well I could scratch 3rd gear, he got a big smile on his face.:rocks: |
