Dealer charging $750 for clear bra
The dealer is charging me $750.00 for the 3m clear bra for my black 335i. It will cover mirrors, front bumper, foglights, headlights and come a little further up on hood than normal.. Any comments suggestions.......

Sounds about right for the dealer. You might want to look into having someone else do it.

Negotiated with the dealer and paid $600 for entire bumper, part of hood, handles, mirrors, and headlights.
A couple months ago, my fiance's friend was stupid and backed into my car hitting my bumper. The clear bra definitely helped, as there was a small mark on the bra covering my bumper. The damage would have been a lot worse, if I did not have clear bra. Love the clear bra,

I called around and got a few quotes, and actually someone from this message board referred me to someone who did an AWESOME job for $400. He did the the full front bumper, 24" on the hood, Headlights, mirrors, rocker panels, and door edges!! This message board rocks!! :rocks:

Too much! Members in the past were paying less at the dealers. Negotiate a better deal.

Have you thought about doing some of the work yourself? Its not that hard with the mirrors rear end and hood. The bumper was a bitch to put on so I would recommend letting someone else doing that.

Reasons dealers charge so much for this stuff are:
1 - It can be rolled in a new car payment, so people add it into their loan rather than pay the money out of their pockets. 2 - Convenience. It can be done while your car is prepped, saving you downtime having it done elsewhere. 3 - Profit. They can give you an apparently better deal on the car and then bulk it up with high margin additions before you sign. You will get a better deal elsewhere.
