Transmission for 335d is ZF 6HP26. The 335i transmission could not handle the torque.

I believe they actually have the 6HP26TU (technical upgrade) which is the same transmission used in the X5 4.8i, 550i, 650i and 750i. ZF documentation sometimes refers to the 6HP26TU as a 6HP28 (both have identical torque ratings, based on the torque converter used) although I haven't seen pictures of the units. The 6HP28 is considered a 2nd generation of the 26/26TU, also considered part of the "6HP 2.0" family.

Actually, you're right..it is the 28....I'm almost positive.
