A Few Beefs

What's with the so-called high-gloss shadow line that BMW has introduced if u get the spt pkg? I much prefer the satin-chrome-finish to the high gloss black (shadow line)? [NOTE: I'm referring to the trim around the windows].

Also, why can u no longer get a spt pkg (must opt for the dreaded M sport pkg, which restricts u to a white exterior colour and costs way too much) on the 335i coupe?

Anyone else agree with my comments?

The Sport Package is standard on rear wheel drive, Canadian spec 2010 335i's (both coupe and sedan). That's why you can't select it when configuring your car on the bmw.ca website. As for chrome vs. high gloss shadow line, I also prefer chrome, but apparently black is considered more "sporty".

M-Sport is primarily for the front and rear aerokit, wider sideskirts and M-style rims (plus M-Sport steering wheel, anthracite headliner and various M badges). They get you on the exterior colour though as you need to choose Alpine White (no cost) or a $800 metallic finish. BMW has to make some extra $$ out of those of us who are willing to pay for looks.... If you don't like the M Sport pkg, don't buy it. The car will drive exactly the same (and look like 95% of the other E90's on the road).

Personally, I much prefer the shadow line but my car is Sapphire Black and I agree it looks less attractive on some colours. I had a Monaco Blue E92 and really didn't like the chrome window trim (I removed all of the other chrome) and went body colour).

The various option packages are all designed to squeeze your wallet and your heart.

I'd gladly trade anyone my chrome window trim for their shadowline. E90 by the way.

Sucks that you can only get the shadowline trim with the sport package option now. I know I'm in the minority but I prefer the chrome trim.
