another Battery replacement question

I was reading the DIY on how to replace your battery at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=292200

and a general question came to my mind:

the battery positive is automatically disconnected when the airbag
goes off but we also all know that the emergency lights are
automatically turned on when the airbag goes off.

so the question is:

is there second backup battery somewhere ?

i don't know the answer, but I would think the e-lighting is on a separate circuit.
